Within its remit, the Infrastructure Committee deals with such matters as construction, spatial management and housing policy, protection of residents and the system of financial support to selected segments of residential construction; land surveying and cartography; development of transport infrastructure; road transport, including road traffic rules, national and international road network, passenger and freight road transport, passenger and freight rail transport as well as commercialisation, restructuring and privatisation of "Polskie Koleje Państwowe" state-owned enterprise; air and water transport; communications, post and telecommunications, IT networks and stimulating the development of the telecommunication services market, including the deployment of terrestrial digital TV; maritime economy, including the merchant navy, seaports, sea fisheries and coastal protection; monitoring the absorption of European Union funds in the area of infrastructure.
