Within its remit, the Committee on Liaison with Poles Abroad deals with matters relating to ties between Poland and Poles and people of Polish origin living permanently or temporarily abroad.
In particular the Committee monitors the situation of Polish minorities and people of Polish origin abroad, including education in Polish communities abroad, functioning of Polish community media as well as the functioning of organisations and institutions dealing with issues concerning the Polish diaspora.
The remit of the Committee also includes evaluation of the implementation status of the Act of 7 September 2007 on the Polish Card, the repatriation rates in the light of the Act of 9 November 2000 on Repatriation, and evaluation of summer projects for the Polish community abroad, i.e. organisation of summer holidays for Polish children and youth living abroad.
The Committee issues opinions on candidates for the position of Consul General of the Republic of Poland.
