Przez aklamację Sejm ustanowił przyszły rok Rokiem Jubileuszu 100-lecia odzyskania przez Polskę Niepodległości. - 11 listopada 1918 r. spełnił się sen pokoleń Polaków - Państwo Polskie narodziło się na nowo. Po rozbiorach i 123 latach niewoli, rusyfikacji i germanizacji, po wielkich powstaniach, wolna Polska powróciła na mapę świata - czytamy w uchwale Sejmu. W dokumencie podkreślono, że to dzięki tym, którzy pozostali nieugięci, nasz Naród wyszedł zwycięsko z dziejowej próby.
- Odzyskanie niepodległości dokonało się poprzez walkę pełną poświęcenia i bohaterstwa nie tylko na polach bitew, ale i w codziennych zmaganiach o zachowanie duchowej i materialnej substancji narodowej oraz w codziennym trwaniu polskich rodzin - głosi uchwała. Jak zaznaczyli posłowie, było to możliwe również dlatego, że ludzie reprezentujący różne obozy - lewicy niepodległościowej, narodowy i ludowy - potrafili się porozumieć w sprawach najważniejszych .
Sejm RP w uchwale złożył hołd pokoleniom, dzięki którym Polska odzyskała niepodległość - obrońcom Konstytucji 3 maja, żołnierzom Insurekcji Kościuszkowskiej i kolejnych powstań narodowych, legionistom polskim i wszystkim walczącym w I wojnie światowej oraz w latach 1918-1921: obrońcom Lwowa, żołnierzom Powstania Wielkopolskiego i Powstań Śląskich oraz bohaterom wojny polsko-bolszewickiej. - Wdzięczność należy się także tym, którzy po odzyskaniu niepodległości podjęli trud budowy silnego i nowoczesnego państwa - II Rzeczypospolitej - napisano w uchwale.
- Sejm wyraża nadzieję, że wzorem Ojców Niepodległości - Józefa Piłsudskiego, Romana Dmowskiego, Ignacego Paderewskiego, Wincentego Witosa, Wojciecha Korfantego i Ignacego Daszyńskiego - Polacy porzucą spory, by wspólnie świętować ten radosny Jubileusz w jedności i pojednaniu - zaapelowali posłowie.
The Sejm decides: 2018 will be the year of the 100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence
The Sejm announced by acclamation that the next year would be the year of the 100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence by Poland. On 11 November 1918, the dream of the generations of Poles came true: the Polish state was reborn. After the partitions and 123 years of serfdom, Russification and Germanisation, after great uprisings, free Poland was reinstated on the map of the world, we can read in the Sejm's resolution. The resolution stresses that thanks to those who remained unyielding our nation came out victorious of that historical ordeal.
Another line of the text reads as follows: regaining independence happened due to devotion and heroism not only at battlefields, but also in everyday effort to preserve the spiritual and material substance of the nation as well as in everyday endurance of Polish families. The deputies emphasised that the success had also been possible thanks to the fact that people representing different factions – pro-independence political left, the national and popular movements – had been able to agree on the most important matters.
By that resolution, the Sejm paid a tribute to those generations which had brought Poland to independence – to the defenders of the 3 May Constitution, to the soldiers of the Kościuszko Insurrection and the subsequent national uprisings, to the soldiers of Polish Legions and to all those who had fought in World War I and in 1918-1921: to the defenders of Lviv, to the soldiers of the Wielkopolska Uprising and the Silesian Uprisings, as well as to the heroes of the Polish-Soviet War. We also owe gratitude to those who took the effort to build a strong, modern state – the Second Polish Republic, after the regaining of independence, we can read in the resolution.
The Sejm expresses hope that Poles will abandon disputes, following the example of the Fathers of Independence – Józef Piłsudski, Roman Dmowski, Ignacy Paderewski, Wincenty Witos, Wojciech Korfanty and Ignacy Daszyński – in order to celebrate this joyous jubilee together, united and reconciled, appealed the deputies.
